Quantities, sizes, materials, tolerances, delivery and payment — the questions we are asked most often.
Who do you manufacture for?
Exclusively for businesses — trade, craft and industry as well as public-sector clients. We do not sell to private individuals.
What quantities do you produce?
From single parts and prototypes to series of 10,000 pieces per order. For series, our bar feeder, loading robot and pallet changer also run unattended.
How large can my parts be?
Milling up to 1,060 × 710 × 710 mm (5-axis), turning up to Ø 400 × 1,500 mm, bar work up to Ø 64 mm. All machines with their working envelopes are listed on our machinery page.
Which materials do you machine?
All common, commercially available materials: structural, heat-treatable, free-cutting and tool steel, stainless steel up to super duplex, aluminium, copper, brass, bronze, titanium and engineering plastics up to PEEK. The full list is on our materials page.
What tolerances and surface finishes are possible?
Unless specified otherwise we manufacture to ISO 2768-m. Fits down to IT7 (e.g. H7, h6) and surfaces down to Ra 0.8 are achieved directly by turning and milling, finer values by grinding. More in our guide on tolerances.
Which files do you need for a quote?
Ideally a 3D model as STEP and a drawing as PDF. We also accept IGES, DXF, DWG, STL and photos. What else belongs in an enquiry is explained in our guide on preparing an enquiry.
Can I supply my own material?
Yes. Please deliver it free to our works in Syke, with a small allowance for setup and scrap that we agree with you in advance.
Do you supply material certificates?
On request we supply inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204. Please state this with your enquiry; the cost is charged separately.
Do you offer hardening, anodising or coating?
Yes, in cooperation with our partner companies. You receive the finished part from a single source, including post-processing.
How are parts delivered?
By parcel service or freight forwarder. You can also collect the parts from us in Syke; please announce the collection at least 48 hours in advance.
Which payment methods are available?
Purchase on account with 30 days payment term (subject to a credit check), payment in advance or cash on collection.
Are my drawings treated confidentially?
Yes. We use drawings, models and samples exclusively for your orders and do not pass them on. This is set out in our terms and conditions.
Can you make a spare part without a drawing?
Yes. Send us the old part as a sample; we measure it and manufacture from it. If you wish, we also create the 3D model and the drawing.
