The more complete an enquiry, the faster and more accurate the quote — and the fewer questions back and forth. With this list you have everything together.
The files
- 3D model as STEP (.step/.stp) — the format every CAD system can read and write. IGES also works.
- Drawing as PDF with tolerances, fits, surface finishes and threads. The model shows the shape, the drawing the requirements.
- For laser parts and gaskets a DXF file is often sufficient.
You can send several parts as a ZIP. Via our contact form we accept PDF, STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, STL, JPG, PNG and ZIP.
The information
- Material with material number, e.g. 1.4404 or EN AW-6082.
- Quantity — ideally several price breaks (e.g. 10 / 50 / 200), and whether it is a one-off requirement or a framework order.
- General tolerance (e.g. ISO 2768-m) and the functional dimensions with tighter tolerances.
- Surface finish — in general and on functional faces.
- Post-processing: hardening, anodising, zinc plating, black oxide?
- Documentation: 3.1 material certificate, inspection report?
- Required date and delivery address.
When model and drawing do not match
This happens more often than you might think — for example when the drawing was not updated after a change. With us, the 3D model is decisive for the geometry; tolerances and surface finishes from the drawing apply in addition. We clarify obvious contradictions with you before production starts.
No model, no drawing?
That works too: send us a sample or a photo with dimensions. For spare parts we measure the old part and make a new one from it. If required, we also create the 3D model and the production drawing.
