Turned parts in non-ferrous metals
Free-cutting brass is the fastest material to turn: short chips, smooth surfaces, long tool life. That makes brass ideal for turned parts in larger quantities — running from the bar feeder even without an operator.
Copper, by contrast, is soft and smears; it needs sharp tools and experience. We use aluminium bronze and gunmetal for bearing and sliding parts that must withstand wear and corrosion.

Design tips
- Choose free-cutting brass unless something speaks against it: CuZn39Pb3 is considerably cheaper to turn in series than other copper alloys.
- Drinking water: parts in contact with drinking water are subject to special requirements on lead content — please state this in your enquiry.
- Make use of bar diameters: parts up to Ø 52 mm can be made from the bar feeder — the most economical route for series.
